Consolidated Appropriations Act (COVID-19 relief law)

Read about some of the latest provisions from the U.S. Department of The Treasury regarding Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021.

The new Consolidated Appropriations Act was signed into law on December 28, 2020 including the COVID-related Tax Relief Act (COVIDTRA) and the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act (TCDTR).

IRS Extends Tax Filing Deadline to July 15, 2020

Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)

The FFCRA requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. The Department of Labor’s (Department) Wage and Hour Division (WHD) administers and enforces the new law’s paid leave requirements. These provisions will apply from the effective date through December 31, 2020.
