Scot is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College and plans to complete his Master of Accountancy at Athens State University. There, he was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business. He also studied business management at Dallas College. Scot has an extensive 18-year career in retail management, corporate financial planning, and operations analytics. He is an affiliate member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Institute of Management Accountants and is currently working to become a CPA.

His areas of practice include audits of financial statements for local governments, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans.

Scot and his wife, Katherine attend Central Baptist Church in Tyler. In his free time, he enjoys music, watching football and rodeo with their little boy, taking in various sporting events or concerts, and spending time with his family.
